Isabel is experienced, so knowledgeable and very kind. She came out to my home and offered me help & support when my son was first born, it was invaluable to get good help in those early days and we're still breastfeeding now at 8 months :); Lalita Mcmahon
Isabel is lovely and so knowledgeable about breastfeeding. She's helped talk me through some of our early breastfeeding issues. She will be he first person I call if I run into any difficulties when baby no.2 arrives in October; Abbie Stocker.
Isabel has been instrumental in my breastfeeding journey from the very beginning. Following a recommendation from my midwife, I visited when my son was 2 weeks old, and I spent most of the time crying. I couldn't see a future for us exclusively breastfeeding at all. Isabel supported me, with the help of her colleagues, for months- with home visits, meetings and online chats. I not only managed to get rid of the formula top-ups but was able to remain firm to healthcare professionals that breast milk was the best option for my baby. My son eventually weaned, of his own accord, whilst I was pregnant with my second son- and pre-baby me would never have managed this without the education and support that I received. When number two arrived, we had a single visit, but I was so much more prepared and knowledgeable after my first experience that all has gone much more smoothly. It's good to know that the online support is available, and I have recommended Isabel to all my new-mummy friends if they have problems establishing feeding, or concerns that crop up; Tabbitha Sweeny
During the visit to my house Isabel and I talked about my situation and we identified what support i needed. I was given sound advice and was enabled to make the right changes to improve the situation. Thank you Isabel It is good to have someone who understands to turn to if i have further concerns. Isabel has been so kind and available at such unsociable hours, we've been very Lucky to have that level of support. Without Isabel's support and guidance we would not be breastfeeding its meant W can have the best start being breastfed. Sally
Isabel was so helpful from the moment I emailed her in desperation after yet another excruciatingly painful breastfeed with my distressed 8 week old son. I really wanted to carry on breastfeeding but the prospect of so much more future pain was very daunting and he was also finding it hard to latch and feed effectively so it was horrible to see him becoming increasingly distressed. I was beginning to think I might not be able to continue breastfeeding. Isabel replied very quickly and offered to visit us at home the next day. Breastfeeding had been difficult for us since day 1 and there had been several challenges along the way (sleepy baby due to jaundice, thrush). I'd sought lots of help from midwives and health visitors, who had all tried their best to help, but the turning point only came following our visit from Isabel. I felt she really listened to the difficulties we'd been having and sprung into action. She sought specialist advice about thrush medications, meaning that we finally were able to access the most effective treatment. She watched us feed in great detail and assessed my baby's tongue function, picking up for the first time that he had a submucosal tongue tie. This was a real surprise as we had specifically asked in hospital if he might have a tongue tie and had been told he didn't, but no health professional had ever done the thorough assessment that Isabel did. As my baby was older, he was approaching the cut-off of 10 weeks for support from the NHS tongue tie clinic. We wanted to try to be seen anyway so Isabel was very prompt in referring him and sent it off the same day, meaning that he was actually able to be seen just before he turned 10 weeks old. The clinic agreed with her assessment that he had a submucosal tongue tie and recommended it definitely needed sorting, so were able to do it there and then. It's still early days but already there is an improvement. Isabel has been brilliant throughout the whole process and has offered ongoing support via email and phone. I'm so glad I contacted her in desperation that day and I just wish I had contacted her sooner rather than putting up with 8 weeks of the issues we were having. Her specialist input was undoubtedly one of the most helpful things I have spent money on for my baby and I definitely would contact her again if I have any breastfeeding problems in future. Thank you for helping me achieve my goal and for being such a great support. If you need me to recommend you, I can certainly do that in groups I attend. Sandra 2016
Suzi 2023, Isabel helped me with breastfeeding my second child, I was told I didnt have enough breast tissue to feed my baby and therefore would not have enough milk to feed this one Isabel Supported me over several visits to believe in my body and gave evidence based information so I could establish my milk supply and latch my baby to the breast, I am still feeding my baby 6 moths later and gently introducing solids.
